GMP and ISO 22716 support

Good Manufacturing Practice support helps a facility establish controls for consistent cosmetic production. ISO 22716 provides cosmetic GMP guidance covering production, control, storage and shipment. An adviser can assess gaps and prepare a facility for an audit, but cannot guarantee certification or replace the manufacturer’s responsibility for its operations.

Procedures and production records

  • Standard operating procedures suited to the equipment and products
  • Batch records, material traceability and product-release responsibilities
  • Cleaning, maintenance and equipment calibration schedules
  • Personnel training and competency records
  • Deviation, complaint and recall procedures

The work should connect written procedures to actual practice, including material receipt, storage, production flow and quality-control sampling.

Gap assessment and audit preparation

Site reviews and mock inspections identify missing controls, incomplete records or inconsistent implementation. A corrective-action plan assigns responsibilities and evidence needed to close each finding. The number of visits and preparation period depend on the facility’s starting position and audit scope. Certification, where sought, is a separate assessment by the chosen certification body.

Applications

Strengthen production controls

ISO 22716 provides cosmetic GMP guidance for production, control, storage and shipment. Work can address batch records, material traceability, cleaning, calibration, training, deviations, complaints and recall procedures. The controls should fit the facility and products.

Mock audits can identify incomplete records or inconsistent implementation. Assign corrective actions and retain evidence that the changes work in practice. Formulation compatibility testing is a separate technical activity, not a guarantee that the quality system meets every market’s requirements.

Audit scope, facility readiness and the selected body determine preparation needs. There is no universal first-pass rate, cost saving or mandatory quarterly mock-audit schedule. An adviser cannot guarantee FDA inspection results or automatic retailer acceptance.
