Organic Certification Support

What is Organic Certification Support?
Evidence and eligibility preparation for a named organic scheme.
Why do you need this service?
Use organic-certification support to assess a formula and supply chain against a named scheme. Supplier traceability, calculation rules and permitted processing are central; analytical testing alone cannot prove organic origin.

Organic certification support
Organic certification is a defined scheme-based assessment, not a general laboratory declaration that a cosmetic is natural or safe. Support may include selecting a suitable program, reviewing eligibility and coordinating the application with an authorized certification body.
Scheme-specific criteria
COSMOS, NATRUE and USDA Organic have different scopes and calculation rules. Some offer distinct labeling categories, and water, minerals or agricultural ingredients may be treated differently in content calculations. A universal organic-content percentage should not be applied across all programs. Ecocert is a certification body associated with relevant schemes, not interchangeable with the name of every standard it certifies.
- Supplier certificates and raw-material traceability
- Complete formula and organic-content calculations
- Permitted ingredients and processing methods
- Manufacturing segregation, cleaning and record controls
- Label and logo-use requirements
Assessment and maintenance
Facility audits and evidence review are central to many programs. Analytical tests for residues or contaminants may be required or justified in specific circumstances, but cannot by themselves prove organic origin or replace traceability.
The certifier determines conformity and grants any associated mark. Renewal, surveillance and change-notification requirements should be confirmed for the selected scheme. Timing and fees depend on the program, product range and readiness of the documentation rather than a standard laboratory package.
Applications of organic certification support
Checking eligibility
COSMOS, NATRUE and USDA Organic have different scopes and labeling categories. Organic-content calculations depend on scheme rules for water, minerals and agricultural ingredients. A universal percentage or blanket prohibition of every synthetic preservative should not be applied across these schemes.
Preparing the application
The package can include supplier certificates, full formulation calculations, manufacturing controls and label information. Residue analysis may support a specific requirement but does not replace traceability. The authorized certifier decides conformity and mark use; laboratory support cannot promise certification, a standard approval period or guaranteed retail access.
